Photography Services

Background

I got into knife photography because of my desire to share my collection with others through the internet. The pictures I took for my Todd Begg Wharncliffe Inline Integral spurred him to request my services for future work. From there it became a part time business for me. I have had my photos printed in all the major knife publications and shared on many of the forums. More than seeing my photos in print, I am delighted when I see the increased attention and expore it brings for the maker.

I look at the work of Bladegallery, As a collector, when I see a truly excellent knife, there are many features that catch my eye; I try to capture those details and perspectives in order to highlight the knifemakers work.

Services

"For the web"

What this means is that the main purpose of these photographs are for maker’s websites or for posting on the forums. The "for the web" photo session includes multiple shots of the knife showing different details and features on each piece.

Prints

The print formatted images are printed by a professional shop. The shop I use has always yeiled consistent high quality results. I can offer better results with this approach than if I printed them myself.

My concerns with digital images and prints:

In my photos I try to create the best image I can. Technology has made it very easy for people to attempt to print a digital image on their home inkjet printer. While these sometimes turn out okay, often they leave much to be desired. My fear is that someone will try to save a buck and attempt to print my images of their knives on their own, potentially producing a bad print with my name on it. I respectfully ask that clients not attempt their own prints. In turn I will try to offer the best price I can for high quality prints.
