About knife collecting

I am very much new to knife collecting. I became interested in knives about the time I started college. Since then, my knowledge and experience base has grown tremendously. I attribute this to the people in the knife community who have been very open and willing to share. When I first became interested in knives, it was because I thought these sharp, shiny objects were just cool. Since then my knife accumulation has turned into a hobby, and in my opinion a collection. I feel my main goal in collecting has changed drastically as well. For some, the knife hobby is much like what it was for me in the begining - about amassing a bunch of really cool knives. To me knife collecting more about the interactions, experience and memories - the knives are just momentos to remember those experiences by.
